In a dramatic ending, the Washington Senators staged a comeback win over the
Kansas City Royals by the count of 3 to 2.

Washington came up with the deciding runs in the 9th inning scoring 3 runs
using 4 hits. Bernie Allen led off and started the rally when he delivered a
single, and an error was also committed. Frank Howard next to the plate and
he doubled plating a run. After an out was recorded, Rick Reichardt stepped
up to the plate and he smacked a single plating one more runner. One out
later, Ed Brinkman came to the plate and laced a one-base hit making
Washington the victor and beginning a joyous home town celebration.
Washington had only 6 hits for the afternoon.

Darold Knowles(2-3) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the win. Moe
Drabowsky(2-2) was hit with the loss in relief. 'Now that is what I call
fun! I just love baseball, especially games like this, of course,' Ted
Williams offered. 'Everyone at the stadium had a great time - did you see
the fans go wild there at the end?!'
