In a thriller the Kansas City Royals staged a dramatic comeback over the
Minnesota Twins winning by a score of 5 to 4 at Municipal Stadium.

Kansas City won the game with a rally in the 9th inning with 3 runs using 5
hits. Jackie Hernandez led off and he slapped a one-base hit. After an out
was recorded, Al Fitzmorris stepped in and he banged out a single which
scored a run. Pat Kelly then stroked a single. Paul Schaal came up and he
delivered a base-hit scoring one more run. Schaal took second on the throw.
Amos Otis stepped into the box and laced a single giving Kansas City the
victory as 20,830 happy fans celebrated wildly. Minnesota was out-hit by
Kansas City, 12 hits to 6.

Moe Drabowsky(2-1) went 2 innings allowing no runs for the win. Ron
Perranoski(2-4) was tagged with the loss in relief. He pitched 2/3 of an
inning and surrendered 5 hits and no walks.

'What a game!,' Drabowsky said afterward. 'When we won it I almost couldn't
believe it!'
