City Royals by a score of 4 to 1 at Tiger Stadium.
 
Kilkenny(2-0) earned his pay with a solid performance for Detroit.  He allowed
6 hits and 4 walks in 7 and 2/3 innings.  Detroit rapped out 7 hits for the
night.  
 
Tom Timmerman earned the save, his 8th.  Bob Johnson(1-2) ended up with the
loss.  'Everything felt great' Kilkenny said. 'I had a good fastball, I felt
I could throw it by everybody tonight.'
