1970 Royals Replay

5/10 at Det - Kelly hits 6th to match real life totals- and big 1b in 9th but Pinellia cut down 1-10 at home. 2nd runner to be cut down at home- also I didn't send a 1-12 runner home with 1 out and 8th hitter coming up- mistake with pitcher due up. Metro's using the DP combo of Schaal at SS and Severson at 2nd is not working defensively. In real life I can see why he was desperate to due something with Jackie Hernandez-Jerry Adair and Luis Alcarez- unfortunatley in Strat Hernandez and Adair have beat the odds and performed very well -

34,067 fans were treated to a fine game at Tiger Stadium as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end. The Detroit Tigers won by the
slimmest of margins, 5 to 4.

Detroit started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of the
first scoring 3 runners on 2 hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by Willie
Horton who made the Detroit fans a happy lot when he lifted one out of the
park for a two run home run (his 3rd of the season). Kansas City had a
chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short.

Earl Wilson(1-0) got the win allowing 2 runs in 6 innings. Tom Timmerman
recorded his 9th save. Dick Drago(2-5) was charged with the loss. He
allowed 10 hits and 2 walks in 6 innings.
