What If League 80 Royals vs 50 Yankees

The Royals have been red hot climbing to 4th but hit hard by injuries (Otis-Wathan-Cardenal) very vulnerable to LH pitchers as Mr. Stengel would exploit this game. The other problem for the hometown boys is they can't beat top teams- 1 out of 10 vs 1rst 2 teams and the Yanks beat them 3 straight here in excruciating fashion. Gura pitched great and 1 run on a Pitch x 1b (Gura 2-0) tough call- the move to Ostrowski that early caught me by surpise-uncharacteristic for the 50's team but a great move with only Chalk on bench from right side-

At Yankee Stadium, the New York faithful were treated to an intriguing
pitcher's duel. Vic Raschi(6-1) finally bested his Kansas City counterpart,
Larry Gura(4-5), by the score of 1 to 0.

New York scored the only run of the game in the 4th inning. Joe Dimaggio drew
a walk. Hank Bauer stepped into the batter's box and he banged out a single.
Billy Johnson then delivered a one-base hit to load the bases. One out
later, Gene Woodling stepped up to the plate and he hit a sacrifice fly
scoring the run. New York ended up with 7 hits for the game while Kansas
City had 4.

Joe Ostrowski recorded his 3rd save. Gura was tagged with the loss. He
allowed 1 run and 7 hits in 7 and 1/3 innings.
