Dick Drago tossed a shutout and first baseman Ed Kirkpatrick blasted 2
homeruns at Anaheim Stadium as the Kansas City Royals beat the California
Angels 2 to 0.
 
Drago(2-1) contributed a very nicely pitched game.  He gave up just 7 hits and
2 walks in 9 innings seeing his ERA drop from 2.57 to 1.57.  After the 4th
inning, neither team was able to score.  
 
The loss was charged to Andy Messersmith(0-2).  He was stingy with the
baserunners, allowing just 3 hits and no walks in 7 innings.
