Alex Johnson had 4 hits and 2 RBI as the California Angels defeated the Kansas
City Royals by the score of 6 to 3 at Municipal Stadium.
Johnson provided the offensive punch. He delivered a solo blast (his 2nd of
the season) in the 2nd inning, tripled in the 3rd inning, slapped a one-base
hit plating a run in the 4th inning and delivered a single in the 7th inning.
Overall California out-hit Kansas City 13 to 10.
The victory was credited to Rudy May(1-0) who went 7 innings, allowing 2 runs.
Ken Tatum recorded his 1st save. Roger Nelson(0-1) absorbed the loss. He
