Mickey Lolich struck out 12 batters at Municipal Stadium where the Detroit
Tigers beat the ice-cold Kansas City Royals 9 to 6.
Lolich(2-1) earned his pay with a solid performance for Detroit. He went 8
and 2/3 innings allowing 7 hits and 6 walks. Overall Detroit out-hit Kansas
City 15 to 8.
Tom Timmerman got the save, his 4th. Dick Drago(2-3) took the loss. 'He was
really impressive tonight,' Drago said of his counterpart. 'Our guys were
just swinging at air.'
