Felipe Alou went deep and had 3 RBI at Oakland Co Stadium as the Oakland A's
beat the Kansas City Royals 6 to 4.
The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by Alou. He doubled bringing in a run in the 1st inning, cleared
the fences for a two-run home run (his 3rd of the season) in the 3rd inning
and stroked a one-base hit in the 4th inning. Both teams finished the game
with 8 hits.
The winning pitcher was Blue Moon Odom(2-1) who allowed 4 runs in 6 and 2/3
innings. Jim Grant earned the save, his 1st. Bill Butler(1-2) was given the
loss. By giving up 5 runs in 4 innings his ERA increased from 3.75 to 5.06.
