1975 Replays

Unbelievable Choke by Pirates and Phils as they both lose their way into a playoff. Look for Reds to destroy either

In a game for the baseball purist, Ron Reed(18-12) and Jerry Reuss(18-14)
squared off in a tense pitching duel, St. Louis club finally emerged
victorious over floundering Pittsburgh team, 2 to 0.

St. Louis went ahead for good in the bottom of the 6th inning scoring a single
run utilizing 2 base hits. Although they lost, Pittsburgh did out-hit St.
Louis 11 to 6.

Bob Gibson recorded his 2nd save. 'I always am most impressed when a pitcher
finds a way to win even without his best stuff,' Red Schoendienst said after
the game. 'Reed did not have command of his pitches most of the afternoon,
but he proved he really knew how to pitch!'
