Roy White had 4 hits as the New York Yankees defeated the Kansas City Royals
by a score of 11 to 6 at Municipal Stadium.

White had a big day with his bat. He doubled in the 2nd inning, laced a
single in the 4th inning, launched a rocket-shot out of the park for a Grand
Slam homerun (his 10th of the season) in the 8th inning and doubled in the
9th inning. Due to a poorly pitched ballgame, scoring in 5 different innings
was still not enough for Kansas City to come away with the victory.

Ron Klimkowski(3-0) went 2 innings allowing 1 run for the win. Jack Aker
recorded the save, his 5th. The losing pitcher was Tom Burgmeier(0-1) in
relief.

'I felt great out there today,' White said, 'Maybe I should make a regular
habit of getting to bed on time!'
