| 6-12 off day with big changes: Charlie Metro is relieved of duties- pitching coach Bob Lemon will take over GM Cedric Tallis had high hoped for the 2nd year team coming off a .500 expansion season. Tallis thought the Royals if anything should be better with Amos Otis in CF and Bob Oliver full time on infield not to mention surprise Joe Keough. No doubt injuries to SP (Nelson and Bunker) have hurt and Moe Drabowsky is not the same pitcher that won the AS game a year before. Lemon should help right the staff. More changes- it is rumored Bunker who has been saving his arm in the pen may have re-injured it in yesterdays win. Facts are not clear. Arnold Monteguedo has been called up but other roster moves are being made as well- looks like Luis Alcarez has reached the end of the road and Jackie Hernandez status is unknown despite having an improved season. Tallis hinted there may be something in the works, something he's been working on a long time. |
