The Boston Red Sox defeated the Kansas City Royals by a score of 8 to 4 at
Municipal Stadium.
Tony Conigliaro was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he
provided much of the offense for the visitors. He depressed the partisan
hometown fans with a grand slam home run (his 11th of the season) in the 3rd
inning and slapped a single plating a run in the 5th inning. Both teams
finished the game with 8 hits.
Mike Nagy(4-4) got credit for the victory, pitching 8 and 1/3 innings and
allowing 4 runs. Dave Morehead(2-5) was the losing pitcher. He gave up 8
runs in 5 innings of work.
