The Pittsburgh club had very little trouble at Riverfront Stadium downing the
Cincinnati team. The score was 13 to 6.

Willie Stargell had a good day at the plate. He doubled scoring two
baserunners in the 1st inning and cracked a two-run shot (his 1st of the
season) in the 2nd inning. Overall Pittsburgh out-hit Cincinnati 16 to 8.

The victory went to John Candelaria(1-0) who went 6 and 2/3 innings, allowing
5 runs. Gary Nolan(0-1) was given the loss. Pittsburgh scored big getting 8
runs off him in 3 innings.
